dock.net also provides SDSL, an alternative to high-cost T1 and partial T1 service. In fact, SDSL can cost as much as 1/4 to 1/2 the price of T1 circuits. SDSL lines, however, are treated as priority high speed data lines by Verizon. Should one ever go down, we have 4-hr response time commitment from Verizon, rather than the normal 24-hour response time with ADSL.

Static IP
A static IP address will never change and does not require a PPoE client to log in and obtain an IP address. With a static connection, the IP address that is assigned to you will always stay the same. With a dynamic IP address, supplied with Verizon's advertised packages, you are frequently assigned a new IP address. Dynamic IP addresses will therefore change when the connection is being reestablished. It is not, therefore, "always on". Dynamic IP is not the ideal connection type for many reasons: it precludes many Internet applications, such as connecting to the computers on your DSL connection remotely from applications like PCAnywhere or Windows Terminal Server, and it makes Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) more difficult to create and maintain. You also cannot run mail, web and other Internet server applications.
Better Pricing
All dock.net DSL accounts are business-level DSL, which means that they come with a static IP and no blocked ports. And our service costs less.

Better Service and Support
dock.net's service is superior to Verizon's service because we are never oversold and have far less downtime. Our technical support is superior because it is available 24-hours a day. When you call dock.net support, our technicians have access to our routers and other equipment to correct your problem. When you call the phone company, the technician has only limited access and usually is in some other part of the country, thousands of miles away from the equipment to which you are connected.
