SDSL - the Premium DSL
Many customers ask us why they should choose SDSL for their business when ADSL is so much cheaper. Good question. Here are some reasons SDSL may be a better choice for you.
Higher Upload Speeds
SDSL is capable of upload speeds up to 1.5Mbps. ADSL tops out at 768Kpbs, or half that of SDSL. Upload speed is important to applications such as VoIP, multiple Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Web servers, video conferencing, or any application where you send large amounts of data to the Internet.
Faster Telco Response Times
All ISPs deliver their service over the local telephone infrastructure, or the "last mile," which is owned by the ILECs (local telephone companies). So, when a DSL line goes down because of local phone line problems, the telephone company is dispatched to fix the problem. ADSL is not considered by the phone companies as a "premium" service, so ADSL is not afforded premium response times. SDSL is a premium service, with typical response times of 4 hours, as opposed to 24 to 48 hours for ADSL.
T1 Performance - Less Cost
SDSL delivers T1 performance at about 1/2 the cost.
