Ojai Valley Gun Club

NRA-Style Pistol Match

We shoot on the first Sunday of every month, commencing at about 9:30 a.m.
We shoot both .22 rimfire and centerfire handguns at 25 yards, using NRA-approved targets and rules;
you may use either semi-automatics or revolvers.

The course of fire is the NRA's National Match 25-Yard Reduced Course:

  • Slow-fire (10 rounds in 10 minutes)
  • Timed fire (10 shots fired in 2, 5-shot strings with 20 seconds alloted for firing each string)
  • Rapid fire (10 shots fired in 2, 5-shot strings with 10 seconds alloted for firing each string)

    the all-25-yard format allows the use of calibres and firearms which are not designed for accuracy at longer distances,
    and we don't want to discourage anyone from joining our happy little band. So, if you want to use a short-barrelled .38 or 9mm,
    send up a flare -- or send an e-mail to the Shoot Chair.

    Our shoot fee schedule:

  • First match: $5.00
  • Additional matches: $2.00 each

  • The June 2007 Shoot Report is in PDF format.
